Sony Launches BRAVIA 9II True RGB TV in India With Prices Starting at ₹5.39 Lakh

Sony India launches the flagship BRAVIA 9II True RGB TV for 2026, featuring advanced RGB display technology, AI picture processing and immersive sound, with 75-inch and 85-inch models priced from ₹5,39,990.

Sony India has announced the launch of the BRAVIA 9II, its flagship True RGB television for 2026, bringing its latest display and audio technologies to the premium home entertainment segment. The new model builds on the recently launched BRAVIA 7II, which introduced Sony’s next-generation True RGB display technology to Indian consumers. The two televisions combine advanced picture processing, colour reproduction and immersive audio features designed to deliver a cinematic viewing experience at home.

The BRAVIA 9II represents Sony’s most advanced implementation of True RGB display technology to date. Unlike conventional LED televisions, the technology independently controls red, green and blue LEDs through Sony’s proprietary RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro™, enabling wider colour volume, enhanced brightness, deeper blacks and more lifelike images.

Both the BRAVIA 9II and BRAVIA 7II use Sony’s RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro to control independently driven red, green and blue light sources. According to the company, this approach achieves the largest colour volume in Sony’s home television history, supporting accurate colour reproduction across wider viewing angles and in brightly lit home environments.

The BRAVIA 9II combines this RGB architecture with Sony’s Advanced AI Cognitive Processor XR™, which analyses scenes in real time to optimise colour, contrast and brightness while preserving the creator’s original intent. Newly developed LED controllers provide Sony’s highest level of backlight control, while RGB Triluminos Max™, Luminance Booster Pro™ and Smooth Colour Gradation help produce purer primary light before it reaches the panel. These technologies are designed to deliver richer colours, smoother tonal transitions and more accurate hues, including at higher brightness levels.

The television also features Immersive Black Screen Pro, a newly engineered glare-free, low-reflection screen treatment intended to improve black levels and reveal fine details in darker scenes. Its audio system, Acoustic Multi-Audio+™, combines Sound Positioning Tweeters and Up-Firing Beam Tweeters to position sound in line with on-screen action.

Sony’s BRAVIA 9II and BRAVIA 7II share several features aimed at delivering a consistent cinematic experience across the True RGB television range. Both models support Dolby Vision®, Dolby Atmos®, DTS:X® and IMAX® Enhanced, allowing viewers to experience colour, depth and detail designed to reflect creators’ intentions under real-world viewing conditions.

The televisions also feature XR Contrast Booster to deliver high peak brightness while maintaining deep, detailed blacks. Sony’s independent RGB LED control is designed to improve colour gamut, contrast, depth and gradation. The company says its RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro drives each LED with high precision, improving brightness, reducing blooming and producing purer colours than conventional Mini LED displays. Independent RGB LED control, combined with X-Wide Angle Pro, is intended to maintain image quality and colour consistency across wider viewing angles.

The True RGB series offers large-screen options for cinematic viewing while maintaining ease of installation and integration into home entertainment spaces. Full-range speakers deliver sound, while Voice Zoom 3™, powered by AI, enhances dialogue clarity. The televisions also feature evolved 3D Surround Upscaling, which expands stereo audio into a wider three-dimensional surround experience.

The flagship design incorporates a wave-textured bezel and a Mirage stand, creating a floating, cable-free appearance that allows the television to blend into modern interiors, including when the screen is not in use. Other features include My Cinema, which optimises picture and sound for film-first viewing, and Ambient Optimization, which automatically adapts picture and audio settings to room conditions and the viewer’s position.

Studio Calibrated modes are available for streaming and entertainment platforms, including Netflix, Prime Video and SONY PICTURES CORE, with availability varying by region.

The televisions run on Google TV, bringing movies, television shows, apps and games together in a personalised entertainment interface. Gemini for Google TV is scheduled to be introduced through a future over-the-air update, enabling more natural AI-powered interactions.

Sony Pictures Core provides access to blockbuster movies, including IMAX® Enhanced titles. Powered by Pure Stream™, the service enables near-4K UHD Blu-ray quality streaming. Customers also receive 10 movie credits valid for 24 months.

Everyday convenience features include an Immersive Frame, a Mirage Stand and concealed cable management. The Inclusive Premium Remote comes with USB Type-C charging, backlit buttons and Find My Remote functionality, adding accessibility and convenience to the viewing experience.

Sony’s True RGB television portfolio now spans screen sizes from 55 inches (140 cm) to 85 inches (215 cm), offering consumers a broader selection of premium televisions for different home entertainment requirements. The BRAVIA 9II and BRAVIA 7II are available through Sony retail stores, including Sony Centre and Sony Exclusive outlets, ShopatSC.com, leading electronic outlets and major e-commerce platforms across India.
